UBC School of Nursing - Guru Nanak College of Nursing Partnership Project
An international partnership initiative between the UBC School of Nursing, Vancouver, Canada and the Guru Nanak College of Nursing, Dhahan-Kaleran, Punjab, India - Sponsored by the Canada-India Education Society (Canada)and the Guru Nanak Medical & Educational Trust (India).
Dedicated to improving health and health care in the rural Punjab through implementing internationally recognized levels of baccalaureate nursing education.

CIDA Funded Primary Health Care Project Announced - March 2001 !
The Canadian International Development Association - Canadian Partnership Branch has just approved funding for our project "Primary Health Care Support in Rural Punjab." This project is a joint initiative of the Canada-India Education Society in Vancouver and CIDA, and will work with the Indian Trust as well as a Project Advisory Committee in India to begin primary health care service assessment and capacity development in the Dhahan-Kaleran catchment area. Nora Whyte, consultant to the CIDA funded project, was on site in Dhahan-Kaleran this spring to formally launch the assessment phase of the project, working closely with the Project Advisory Committee, and creating detailed plans for upcoming activities.<

Advisory Committee
The Partnership has Advisory Committees in Canada (comprised of UBC School of Nursing faculty members, Canada-India Medical Education Society members, and community nurses) and in India (comprised of Guru Nanak Mission Medical & Educational Trust members and Guru Nanak College of Nursing faculty members.
